X-Men: Apocalypse

I saw X-Men: Apocalypse, the final film of the X-Men prequel trilogy. Once again, I thoroughly enjoyed the performances of James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender. They really helped to carry this franchise. The film was able to keep my attention and had a couple of pretty good action sequences; however it was no First Class or even Days of Future Past. There was a self deprecating joke in the film about how the 3rd in a trilogy is never as good as the originals, which I thought was clever. Overall, it was a bit long and I do agree with one critic that said some of the characters that you want to see the most didn't get as much attention as some of the other less interesting characters. For that reason I'd say if you choose to see this one, catch the matinee.
