Jason Bourne

If you've seen one Bourne movie, you've seen them all. There really is no originality or complexity in the plot. The car chase scenes are so unrealistic it's comedic but that's not why I go to these movies.

What I enjoyed most with this movie, along with it's predecessors, is Matt Damon's convincing portrayal of a man struggling with the realities of his past, the different locations, the nonstop action, and the unique fight choreography.

If you're looking for a movie where you can mentally check out & just go along for the ride, I'd recommend seeing this one.

Suicide Squad

I saw Suicide Squad last night. Wesley Lovell of Cinema Sight says it best, "it succeeds more than it fails. It's certainly entertaining and Smith is better than he has been in years with Robbie a star in the making..." For me, Margot Robbie really steals the show. Her version of Harley Quinn is pretty spot on. She also has great comedic timing. Where it fails is in the terrible choice of villain and some of the dialogue is really corny. I also have some mixed feelings of the Joker. I really like Jared Letto as an actor but I was a little confused on where he going with his character. He said he was influenced by David Bowie's Goblin King from Labyrinth but I didn't really see that. I can't imagine it's easy to follow in Heath Ledger's footsteps or even Jack Nicholson's but this Joker is really outside of the box. Maybe it's just something that will have to grow on me when I see his character again in Justice League. What all of that being said, if you can look past the faults, I say give this one a shot.

Bad Moms

I saw Bad Moms on Thursday and I really enjoyed it. This chick flick was full of really great comedic actresses. Kristen Bell & Christina Applegate stole the show.
I laughed the entire movie, it kept my attention through out and had a strong theme of female empowerment. I'd definitely recommend this one for a ladies night out.

Ghostbusters

I saw Ghostbusters over the weekend. With 4 talented comedic actresses as the headliners I was really hoping this would be a hit. Unfortunately this movie fell flat. It was corny & most of the best punch lines were in the previews. This is one I wish I would have waited to see on DVD. I'd say save your money & hold off on this one.
